  1. >Nearly a quarter of convoy donations came from British Columbia I am not surprised at all
  2. It's because of the federal election. Conservative Premieres are hiding out so they don't indirectly damage O'Toole's run. Got my Vaccine Passport. I like these things for international travel but I don't like these things for ordinary everyday non-essential things and hope they disappear sometime soon. They both won't affect me either way though.
  3. We're generally not very "American" about things for lack of a better word, but I do think there'll be pushback here from this covid passport stuff if it's in any way long-term.
  4. Eh, we had one in BC last year during the thing, they'll probs just give more mail-in options so people who really want to vote but don't want to be in the crush of people will just avoid it anyways
  5. Ayyyy, we just crossed the 70% fully vaccinated threshold for people over 11 years old. 80% of the population over 11 has at least one dose. -10%ish for both when you include under 11s. Not bad.
  6. Yeah. The under-11s drop everyone by about 10%. Not counting them, even the prairie provinces are hovering in the low-to-mid 70s for 1st doses, and you kind of assume any slowdown on getting the second is because of things being opened back up during summer or the younger demos just haven't been called yet for the second. The only Province/Territory that has over-12s in the 60% range is Nunavat, which collectively has the population of the town I live in. It's still probably too early but we're already inside or close to the initial herd-immunity range (60-70%?) and seem to be on pace to surpass it if it's deemed safe/necessary for young children. Govt stats page btw
  7. Canada's overall number should reach 70% in the next two or three weeks unless things stall out, and that's without under-11s being able to get them.
  8. Ayyyyy second shot, when does Ultra Instinct kick in?
  9. Went to the local 7-Eleven and there was no more social distancing measures in place
  10. Got my first shot today and then laid down on the couch and watched a 5 hour NASCAR race About halfway through the race I started seeing laptimes in my eyeballs and commercials when I shut my eyelids Who's cheugy now you zoomer ass bitches
  11. My parents just got their first shots last weekend and my first one is scheduled for the 30th. I think they opened it up to under 18s (down to 12 years old? I forget what it was) and said that if kids showed up with their parents they didn't need to pre-register to get a shot, so I'm wondering if I'll end up getting bumped because of so many extras being used.
  12. Ayyyyy the single-dose vaccination percent of the country just rose above America's for the first time (which is the only our media knows how to measure success apparently). Way behind in second-dose vaccinations but the strategy here seems to be to give everyone the first dose ASAP to prevent hospitalizations and then we'll start getting to the second when we get to it.
  13. I heard it was the police who more or less said "Yeah, we're not doing that" and Ford had to walk it all back to save what little face he had left from it.
  14. Sending prayers, best wishes, spirit bomb energy etc so you guys get through it healthy :(
  15. God. 30 degree heat is about when I start shutting down and turn into a zombie. We're lucky in that we mostly only get about two-ish weeks of it per summer (acks more like 3ish now spread throughout the summer because climate change ;_;). We're pretty much in the 10-13 range the entire week (50-60ish F?)
  16. Legit would miss the rain, greenery, and people actually having manners in public
  17. The California Wildfires have made up here smokey as shit, to the point where they've considered cancelling schools and they advise everyone to wear masks when going outside and it lol'ed me because that's just normal 2020 news at this point, didn't even have to bring the wildfires into it
  18. They should be willing to sacrifice themselves to save the economy, after all
  19. Stats If you're under 50, there's not even a half of a percent chance of you passing away from it, and that's only if you're near-50. Conservatives and money-fucks are gonna be looking at things like that and doing the mental calculations that it's mostly retirees who are passing away, it's not like the Spanish Flu where it was killing prime workforce aged people in droves. Yep, but Conservatives care more about money than people sooooo
  20. Two schools of thought and I think both are right - We've mostly avoided it because social distancing is working - It's mostly going to kill old folks. Except for our medical systems being overwhelmed and not having enough places to store dead bodies that would be swamping the hospitals in the largest cities, society could be functioning normally through all of this Coming from a Conservative, it usually translates to "rich people are losing money, we're only going to lose poor people and old people so why aren't we sacrificing them so rich people can keep making money?!" Doesn't matter if he means it otherwise, that's how it gets read.
  21. Fuuuuuuck, here's hoping it's nothing too long-term serious and just some passing chest infection or something :(
